My uncle at the bris* of his grandson with his son-in-law. On their foreheads they are wearing Tefillin, a symbol of their binding themselves to God's will.
Because of my not being an orthodox Jew and creating artwork that challenges Jewish orthodoxy, I am not invited to family events.
My mother emailed this photograph to me. This photograph is for reference only. It is not for sale.
*The bris or brit milah is a Jewish religious male circumcision ceremony performed by a mohel on the eighth day of the infant's life. The brit milah is followed by a celebratory meal.
